Why is it we do what we do? That's a long and complicated story. So we thought we'd do it some justice by blogging about it. Here is what we have written so far.
It started with an old lady
Most companies have humble beginnings. Our beginnings was a planning application and an old lady. Is that humble enough?
My first screw upYou learn from your mistakes, so they say. In our first major consultation event, we made the biggest mistake that you can possibly make. Trying to talk to everyone.
Engagement is dirty work
Involving people who are traditionally excluded from society is hard, especially when attitudes towards them are truly appalling. We took the lessons from our first engagement exercise, and applied them to the hardest possible use.
Listening is underrated
Too often we go into public engagement activities with only our own objectives in mind. But what do we want others to achieve from it? Thinking about this for once means that we actually involve people in decision making.
The best £30,000 I ever spent
Too often we go into public engagement activities with only our own objectives in mind. But what do we want others to achieve from it? Thinking about this for once means that we actually involve people in decision making.
New frontier, same problems
With a change in job came a change in industry. Kind of. We got our very first experience of the tech scene, and what we saw depressed us. The same issues, but with more tech.
Into the darkness
Every company has its dark times. When nothing seems to work and all you see is darkness. Ours very nearly consumed us.
Time for the revolution
To finish off this series on our history, we reflect on what we actually achieved during the 18 months up until March 2020. It was a lot. But a lot more still needs doing.

Our Founding Principles
Put citizens at the heart
Transport is a social good. Good tramsport planning works with people to get equitable outcomes.
|
Explore the future
The future of mobility is an opportunity. We must explore it with people.
|
Open in all we do
Everything we create and research will be made available to all, for free.

If you want to get to the bottom of what your community needs from its transport and mobility services, we can help you with that. If you want communities to actually help make decisions, we can help you with that as well. If you want them to plan new cycle or bus networks from scratch, lets get to it.
If you want the community to support your plans, you need our help even more. Seriously, if you approach them with that attitude then you will have trouble.
If you want us to just run a workshop, then dag-nammit count us in as well.
We will get to know you and what your challenges are. We will tailor what we do to meet those challenges. By the end of it, not only will you know what your community needs, but they will be so bought into it that they will be telling others how brilliant it was.
So lets get started.
